The Vapor Lock Installer lets you choose Free or Premium, then lists the available releases for that edition and verifies your selection before installation. Only releases offered by the current signed catalog are available. Critical requirements can exclude older versions from the installer.
To update from an older release or repair an installation, download the current standalone installer, close Vapor Lock and Official Aim Testing Suite, then select your existing Vapor Lock folder. Do not delete models or profiles, and do not install into a different folder. Older bundled installers may be unable to retrieve the current release; use the standalone installer linked above.
Automatic application updates are opt-in and disabled by default. Optional update notices can be dismissed or disabled in settings. Updates replace Vapor Lock application files while keeping your models, profiles, datasets, training outputs, configuration, and existing training environment. Compatible runtime components are reused when verified.
Official models can be updated separately from Model Library. Custom models are never overwritten.
After successful online verification, Premium works offline for up to eight hours, ending sooner if your license expires.
If access verification expires, protected operations stop while your workspace and unsaved settings remain available. Reconnect and verify access, then choose Start when ready.
A critical update may require a newer client before capture can start. The workspace stays accessible, and this does not revoke your license key. Optional update-notice preferences do not disable critical requirements.
